When you look at the women inside LWDG now, it can be easy to assume they were always confident.
They weren’t.
They joined unsure, asking quiet questions, trying to piece things together. Just like you.
Their training started to change. But the change didn’t come from becoming different people.
It came from finally being shown what mattered first and what could wait.
Clarity came first.
Confidence followed.
“I was ready to give my two rescue cockers back. I’d had four breakdowns in six months. Finding LWDG and working with Claire gave me the how I was missing. Now we’re walking together, calmer, and I finally believe I can do this.” – Alison S
You shouldn’t have to rehearse questions in your head before asking them.
You shouldn’t have to worry about sounding stupid, being told you’re doing it wrong, or feeling like everyone else is further along than you.
If you’ve ever held back because you didn’t want to draw attention to yourself, that’s not a confidence issue.
That’s a safety issue. Learning only works when you feel able to ask, clarify, and say,“I don’t understand this yet.”
Here, that’s expected. That’s normal. That’s how progress actually happens.
You don’t need to memorise terminology or study training like an exam.
You don’t need hours of spare time or perfect conditions.
You need training that fits into real life.
Into work, weather, family, and a dog who doesn’t read the rulebook.
That means knowing what to focus on now, what can wait, and what actually matters in the moment you’re in.
When everything feels urgent, nothing feels manageable. When everything feels urgent, nothing feels manageable. Knowing what to do next changes that.

“I loved training but dreaded posting in online forums , the comments crushed my confidence. Inside LWDG I found a safe space, expert support, and real answers without judgement. Now I’m back enjoying my dogs and learning at my own pace.” –Anne C
When I first started training, I felt out of place. Groups were intimidating, advice was conflicting, and I often felt too scared to ask the questions I needed answers too. I knew there had to be a kinder way. That’s why I created LWDG: a space where women could learn without shame, ask any question, and celebrate real dogs in real life. Today, over 800 women are inside, proof that we thrive when we do this together.

Imagine walking into the field without dread, because you know your dog will listen.
Imagine knowing what to do next in your training, and actually enjoying it.
Imagine a community that cheers your wins instead of criticising your mistakes.
If something hasn’t clicked yet, it doesn’t mean you’re incapable.
It doesn’t mean you’ve ruined your dog, missed a window, or got it wrong beyond repair.
It means something needs adjusting.
That’s not failure.
That’s how learning actually works.
You don’t need to get it right first time to be a good handler.
You need support while you figure it out.
And that’s the difference between doing this alone and doing it properly.
“I thought my questions were too basic for the gundog world. In LWDG, every step forward, no matter how small, was celebrated. That support gave me courage, and today I’m working five spaniels with growing confidence.” – Julia G
Confused, embarrassed, inconsistent, second-guessing.
Clear plan, confident handling, calm dog, community support.
“Coming into gundogs later in life felt intimidating. In LWDG I found women who cheered me on, even when progress was slow. That encouragement built my skills and gave me the confidence to step fully into the gundog world.” – M.H
“My spaniel’s energy was off the charts and I felt lost. Through LWDG masterclasses and community support I learned to channel that drive. We’re still a work in progress, but now I see potential, not panic.” – Sue L
Scattered and inconsistent — you’re left piecing things together on your own.
Helpful on training days, but not full-time support when you need guidance at home.
