We’ve added a mentorship program to our Membership. You can build skills and share knowledge with another member of our working dog community.
I am excited to see all of us build stronger relationships with each other and hope you’ll join in if you are a full member.
Here’s how the program works:
You sign up in our exclusive Members Club on Facebook, match yourself with a partner. Each week you will get helpful conversation starters so you get to know each other better.
It’s up to you how much time you want to spend together and what goals you want to work towards.
This will replace our training partner section.
If you are already a full member please go to our Mentorship section to look for, or offer support.
If you are not a full member of the Ladies Working Dog Group, please visit our becoming a member page and join to gain access.
Our Mentorship program will help you to achieve something exciting, or enjoy the deep satisfaction of helping someone else be successful.
Any group member can ask someone to mentor them when they see that person listed as a mentor. Group members can also offer to mentor people.
Most people spend about an hour a week talking to their partner and reviewing program steps so its not going to take up lots of your time.
Who can become a Mentor?
Anyone who has experience and a skill to share can offer support in the Members Club mentorship program. Your mentor’s advice is their own opinion and not that of The Ladies Working Dog Group or of of Facebook . All participation is voluntary and your mentor’s advice is not meant to substitute professional advice.
Mentors should have enough knowledge about the topic to give good advice to someone with less experience.
Do I get to decide who my partner is?
Yes. You can browse the profiles of potential partners and start a conversation with people who seem promising. Group members may also see your profile and send you a message if they think that you may be a good match. You’ll have a few days to get to know each other and make sure that you want to continue the mentorship. As more people join the program, you’ll be able to see their profiles on the Mentorship tab.
How do I communicate with my partner about the mentorship?
Once you’ve been paired with someone, you’ll be connected in Messenger and in a one-to-one mentorship program on Facebook.
You can find your mentorship program on Facebook in our MEMBERS CLUB
