Regional organisers oversee the LWDG Communities in different areas. Regional organisers play a voluntary leadership role in the LWDG, and support the organisation and its reputation both to members and in the wider world of working dogs, they bring together our Society Members so they never feel alone.

The Ladies Working Dog Community is split into 14 different regions currently, 7 of which are in the UK. As more members join, we are adding more regions to meet demand.

Why did you want to be an LWDG Regional Organiser?

“My Grandfather was a game keeper, so I have always been around working dogs. Finding like minded people who I can discuss training with, and socialise of course, has been really helpful to me, so I’m keen to help other women find the same support. I am passionate about dogs and training which has led me to study an MSc in animal behaviour and try to understand them better. I currently have 2 Springer Spaniels and beat on a small syndicate shoot throughout the season.“

Why did you want to be an LWDG Regional Organiser?

“I’ve always had a passion for dog training, it started with domestic “pets” 3 years ago when I got my Collie (spud). I then went on to get my first working dog Loki with my partner and we made the decision to train him for work, I found it quite hard to start with, finding friendly people that would answer my simple/ novice questions but once I found the LWDG we flew! I want to offer, either personally or be able to point people in the right direction of that kind of support locally. “

“I’ve been around working dogs for the last decade. I’ve picked upon shoots, and was lucky enough to take part in the Game Keeper Class in Crufts when I was 14. I’m 20  now and I think it’s important to have someone a little younger to be involved, I like helping people out. “

Why did you want to be an LWDG Regional Organiser?

“After years of dogs and horses I got my first working dog (Red the cocker) in 2018 and have fallen in love with gundog training (and Red). LWDG is fab and gives people a platform to ask questions, socialise, share achievements (no matter how small), learn and much more. I would love to organise some meet ups with and without dogs to develop the LWDG ethos further 😊

Why did you want to be an LWDG Regional Organiser?

“Although I grew up with working springers, I only got my first dog 4 years ago but have since become obsessed with learning about the world of working and training dogs. Being a newbie I know how daunting it can be, especially when you’re not sure what you’re doing! I’m therefore keen to network and support others who are starting out, learn from those with experience or just chat about our passion – dogs! “
